Friday May 17 – Day 137 – Advanced Swap – Coloring over white pigment ink on dark cardstock
Devyn: This was an interesting card technique to try! I’m not too familiar with coloring with colored pencils but this was fun. I started with Gina K In The Navy cardstock base. I laid out the stamps from the My Monthly Hero March 2019 kit, where I think they would look good and die cut the aquarium die in Gina K Black Onyx and laid it over to make sure it all lined up. After a few adjustments, I stamped the fish, seaweed, and rock in Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink and I colored them Prismacolor colored pencils. I used Clear Wink Of Stella to add a little shimmer to the fish and seaweed.
Lori: We tried this technique for a card swap and I really enjoyed doing it! I used Gina K Designs Fresh Asparagus for the base, then Black Onyx with My Favorite Things A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX die set. I used Gina K Designs Slate cardstock for the stamp/coloring layer. Â I used Altenew Leaf Canopy in Gina K Designs Jet Black Amalgam, then the inner stamp with Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils in 4 green shades. I heat embossed the sentiment in Versafine with Nuvo Fine Detail Glacier White embossing powder.
